In short

Name bunting for a child's bedroom

This name bunting spells Theo in big playful capitals on large pennant flags, each in a different bright colour. Each flag is 18 by 25 cm, one to a portrait A4 sheet, so a four-letter name takes four sheets and hangs about 80 cm long above a bed, a desk or a playroom door.

About this version

Children like to see their own name on their own wall, and name bunting is a quick, cheap way to make a shared room feel like theirs or to mark which bed belongs to whom. This preset spells Theo on four large pennant flags, the classic triangle bunting shape, in WallKiwi's bright mix: coral, sunshine yellow, kiwi green and sky blue, with lilac and berry following for longer names. The capitals are set in the playful display face, which has a bouncy, hand-drawn feel that suits a child's room better than a formal letter.

Each flag is 18 by 25 cm, one to a portrait A4 sheet. A short name such as Theo makes a neat 80 cm run above a bed or a desk; a longer name such as Elizabeth makes about 1.8 m and might suit a wall better than a headboard. If the space is small, such as a bedroom door or the end of a bunk bed, switch to medium flags.

For brothers and sisters sharing a room, make one banner each in a different colour scheme, or one banner with both names and a star between them. Children can help: older ones can cut the straight edges of a pennant safely with child scissors, and younger ones can choose the order of the colours. For a playroom, try a word instead of a name, such as Play, Create or Hello.

The pennant shape puts the letter high on the flag, where the triangle is widest, so it stays large and easy to read even for a child just learning their letters. Print on card, and if the bunting is going above a bed, fix both ends firmly with hooks or tie it to the curtain pole, never with drawing pins a small child could reach. Card flags last for years and can be wiped with a barely damp cloth.
