Who this notice covers

This notice explains how Planit Teachers Ltd handles information when you create an account, use Planit Teachers, contact us, or ask us to support a school rollout.

Information we handle

We handle account details you provide, content you choose to create or upload, support messages, and technical information needed to operate, secure, and understand use of the service. A school may provide additional account or membership information when it administers a school workspace.

Why we use it

We use this information to provide and secure the product, keep accounts working, respond to support requests, administer school access, and improve the service. We also use contact details for service messages and, where permitted, relevant product communications. Every school-outreach email includes a way to opt out.

Your choices

You can ask about, correct, or request deletion of your account information, subject to any information we must retain. Depending on where you live, you may have additional data-protection rights. Use our contact page so we can identify and respond to your request securely.

School review

Schools needing a detailed privacy, data-processing, or AI-use review should contact us before rollout. This public notice does not replace any separate agreement required for a school deployment.

Cookies and similar technologies

This section lists every cookie, local storage item and third-party script this website uses, what each is for, and whether it runs by default or only with your permission. Under UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025) we may run usage statistics that help us improve the site without asking first, as long as we tell you and you can object. Advertising, Google Analytics and recordings of your visit only ever run after you choose Accept.

  • On by default; you can switch it off

    PostHog usage statistics

PostHog analytics (EU hosting), loaded through our own address ph.planitteachers.ai. It stores an anonymous visitor ID in a first-party cookie and in local storage.

Purpose: Counts page views, clicks and errors so we can see which pages and tools help teachers and fix what breaks. If you are signed in, events are linked to your account. It is not used for advertising.

How long: The visitor ID cookie lasts up to 365 days (PostHog's default, which we do not change). Switching usage statistics off stops PostHog loading and records your objection in this browser.

  • Off unless you choose Accept

    PostHog session recordings

A recording of how the page was used (clicks, scrolling, page changes), made by the same PostHog script. Text you type is recorded, except in fields we mark as private.

Purpose: Lets us see where a page confuses people so we can fix it.

How long: Set by PostHog under our account settings.

  • Off unless you choose Accept

    Google Analytics 4

Google's measurement tag (gtag.js, property G-990YQ5PD33). It sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_990YQ5PD33.

Purpose: Measures visits and sign-ups. Its data is linked to Google Ads, which is why it is treated as advertising here.

    How long: Set by Google.

  • Off unless you choose Accept

    Google Ads

The same single gtag.js script, configured for Google Ads (AW-11299948131). It sets cookies such as _gcl_au, and Google's own doubleclick.net cookies.

Purpose: Tells us which adverts lead to sign-ups and lets Google show our adverts to people likely to find them useful.

    How long: Set by Google.

  • Off unless you choose Accept

    Hotjar

Hotjar's script (site ID 3362831), which sets its own cookies.

Purpose: Heatmaps and recordings of visits, to see how pages are used.

    How long: Set by Hotjar.

  • Only when you use it

    Crisp support chat

Crisp's chat widget, which sets its own cookies to keep your conversation.

Purpose: Lets you message us. It loads inside the signed-in app, and on a public page only when you open chat (the Help buttons on the contact page). It does not load on other public pages.

    How long: Set by Crisp.

  • Only when you use it

    Google sign-in

Google's sign-in script (accounts.google.com), which may read or set Google's own cookies.

Purpose: Lets you create an account or sign in with Google. It loads only where the sign-up or sign-in form is shown.

    How long: Set by Google.

  • Needed for the site to work

    Your cookie choice

A local storage item, planit_consent_v1, holding the choice you made in this banner.

Purpose: Remembers your choice so we do not ask again.

How long: Kept in this browser until you change it or clear your site data.

  • Needed for the site to work

    Language preference

A first-party cookie and local storage item, both called planit-language, and a local storage item, planit-language-chosen, that marks it as your choice. A second first-party cookie, planit-ui-language, records the language the app is showing so the pages our server builds match it.

Purpose: Remembers the language you chose for the app, and keeps every part of a page in the same language.

How long: The cookies last one year.

  • Needed for the site to work

    Signing in

A local storage item, auth_token, holding your session once you sign in (or start as a guest).

    Purpose: Keeps you signed in.

How long: Kept until you sign out, or until the session expires.

  • On by default; you can switch it off

    How you found us

First-party local storage items (planit_signup_attribution_v1, with a planit_sa cookie as a fallback; planit_utm_attribution; planit_coupon_attribution; planit_referred_by). They hold the page you first arrived on, the campaign or referral link you used and the last sign-up button you pressed. Never anything you typed.

Purpose: Sent with your registration so we know which pages and referrals bring teachers to Planit Teachers, and so a referral or discount code reaches your account.

How long: The landing page record is replaced after 90 days (its fallback cookie expires after 90 days); campaign, discount and referral records are ignored after 30 days. Discount and referral records are removed once used.

You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings, which is also at the foot of every page. Choosing Reject, or switching a category off, tells Google and PostHog to stop at once and stops those scripts loading on later pages. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser settings.

Our free tools can be embedded on other websites. An embedded tool loads none of the scripts above and sets no cookies of ours.

Payments are taken on Stripe's own checkout page, which has its own cookie notice. We do not load Stripe's scripts on this site.
