Handmade goods are usually priced on a tag tied to the item itself, so a buyer can pick it up, turn it over and find the price without asking. These are swing tags at a true 50 by 30 mm, the size of a standard small retail tag, 25 to an A4 sheet. This set prints eight of them on one sheet. The left-hand end of each tag is a solid sage green block with a dashed punch mark in the middle, and two dashed diagonals across its corners show where to snip them off, giving the classic luggage tag shape. To the right, the item name prints in small bold type, the price is the largest thing on the tag in classic display lettering, and a short note sits at the bottom. The sample is a mixed craft stall: knitted scarf £18, beeswax candle £6, ceramic mug £14, linen tote bag £12, greetings card £3, silver earrings £22, soy wax melts £4.50 and a set of four wooden coasters £10.
Type your own items and prices, one per line, adding a note after a bar for materials, care or size, such as Hand wash only, Merino wool or Size 6 to 12 months. A note is a good place to put your business name too, if you want it on every tag. Sage looks natural on handmade goods; charcoal, navy and berry are good alternatives, and black and white printed on kraft card looks deliberate and rustic.
Price clearly and keep it easy to read upside down, since tags hang every way. Round prices are easier at a busy fair. If you take card payments, a small sign on the table saying so helps sales of the more expensive pieces.
Print at 100% on 250 gsm card or kraft card if your printer feeds it. Cut along the dashed lines, snip the two corners at the hole end, and punch the hole with a single-hole punch or a 3 mm leather punch. Tie the tags on with baker's twine, cotton thread or elastic loops, or attach them with a tagging gun on clothing.
