A tag on a handmade item says it was made by a person, and puts your name where a customer will see it again. This version prints 15 round tags on one A4 sheet, each 55 mm across, five across and three down, with a 6 mm hole near the top. Each tag is filled with a soft pastel, coral, yellow, green, blue and lilac in turn, with a scalloped border drawn in the deeper colour inside the edge. The words Handmade with love are in classic dark lettering, with the shop name, Rosie's Makes, in smaller bold type beneath.
To make them yours, type your own shop or maker name in the second line. You can change the message to Made by hand, Hand knitted, Hand poured or Made with love in Bristol, or use the second line for your web address or social media name so a customer can find you again. Choose one colour if your brand has one, or black and white to print on kraft card, which suits most handmade goods. For price and care details, keep this tag for the name and add a separate small tag.
For markets and craft fairs, tag every item before the day, because there is no time once customers arrive. Tie tags to knitwear, bags and toys with twine through the hole, or loop them round the neck of a candle jar or a bottle. If you post orders, drop a tag into each parcel even if the item is not tagged; customers keep them, and some will use them to order again.
Print at 100% on 250 gsm card. Cut the sheet into squares along the dashed lines, then cut round each circle; a 55 mm circle punch speeds up a large batch. Punch the hole through the marked circle and thread with natural twine or thin ribbon. Store spares flat in a dry box.
