About this version

Not every party with tables needs wedding stationery. A big birthday, a christening lunch, a charity quiz, a school reunion dinner or a family party in a village hall all need table numbers that are clear and cheerful. This set prints 1 to 8 in WallKiwi's rounded lettering, each card in the next colour of the bright mix: coral, sunshine yellow, kiwi green, sky blue, lilac and berry, then coral and yellow again. On the yellow cards the number prints in dark green rather than yellow, so it can be read across the room.

Each card is a tent: one portrait A4 sheet printed with the design on both halves, the top half upside down, and a dotted fold line across the middle. Folded, each side is 210 by 148 mm, and the number reads the right way up from both sides of the table. The word Table sits above a short rule with a diamond, and the number fills the space below. Eight cards print on eight sheets.

Change the first and last table for the size of the room, up to 40 cards. For a quiz night, change the word above to Team and give each table its number. Bright colours also help with a kids' party table plan: tell children they are on the green table rather than table 3. For a calmer look, switch to one colour, or to black and white on coloured card, which is the cheapest way to print a big set.

Print at 100% on card and score each fold before you bend it. In a hall with long trestle tables, put a card at each end of every table so people can see it from both doors. Stick each card down with a small piece of putty if children will be running about. The cards fold flat afterwards and keep for the next party.
